The "Small Batch Rare Rums HTR" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Rum Nation. It was distilled in 1997 from Molasses and then aged for 20 years. The rum has an ABV of 57,8% and the mark is HTR. This is a limited release and there are only 579 bottles. 24 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.2/10. The rum smells like Tar, Rubber and Tea, and on the palate there is Tar, Rubber and Caramel.

Heute hatten wir eine weitere Verkostung, die einige Überraschungen bereithielt. Etwas unausgewogen in den Aromen, aber definitiv ein Caroni.
Nicht überzeugt, eine wenig ausdrucksstarke Nase, ein "verwässerter" Mund und ein leichter Abgang. Die Caroni-Marker sind verblasst. Nicht mein Stoff.
Sherry butt does not suit mild Caroni. It is overhelming the whole Caroni taste ... Caroni is a distillery from Trinidad, producing at the time of its greatest glory a rum that was added at a ratio of 1:10 to the mariners' blend. It was too strong and strange to be pleasant on the tongue. In 2000, the distillery ceased production and closed. Only in 2010 did tasters appear who took a liking to the rum because of its special taste. And the interest grew. Caroni belongs to the category of "you need to try before you die" rums. I recommend it, Caroni is a truly unique rum.
