Foursquare ECS II Port Cask Finish 2005

This rum is drinkable every day in every possible occasion. For the original price it was the rum you MUST buy. I was lucky to had one bottle and I will always remember it. 🥲

Die Nase ist typisch barbadisch mit Früchten und Vanille, gekrönt von Schokolade und Eiche. Der Gaumen ist komplexer als bei der ersten Version und nach der Ruhezeit voller Aromen. Süß, fruchtig und würzig in einer ausgewogenen Mischung, gefolgt von Kakao und Eiche, der Abgang ist mittellang und süß/fruchtig mit Vanille und Eiche.

Tag 7 des Kalenders Samples de luxe. Auf den ersten Blick eine Caroni-Nase, aber die tropischen Früchte übernehmen die Führung mit dunkler Schokolade. Wie gut das schmeckt! Ein tropischer Garten im Mund, sogar mit Früchten wie Kirschen. Sehr reife Früchte. Und gleich daneben eine gut sortierte Konditorei und der Konditor hat nicht mit Vanille gespart. Ein Rum zu allem! Sehr ausgewogen, aber vielleicht ein bisschen zu stark verdünnt. Das leere Glas bringt eine rauchige Seite und roten Portwein, die bis dahin verdeckt waren. Ich senke die Bewertung ein wenig, nachdem ich den Plenipotenzario probiert habe, der höhere ABV macht den Unterschied. Nochmal probiert und ich bestätige meinen ersten Eindruck.

Ve vůni klasický foursquare, tropické ovoce, vanilka a náznak čokolády. V chuti poměrně hodně ovoce, které rychle přechází do sladkých vanilkových cukrátek. V dnešní rostoucí ceně tomu chuťový zážitek neodpovídá, ale vemu-li v potaz ceny minulé tak moc dobré i přes nízké abv.

Angenehmer Daily-Sipper ohne viel Tiefgang PLV kann ich nicht beurteilen :D

Bought a bottle on the basis of a favorable whiskyfun review (paid around 30€). I remember being disappointed by the screw top (no cork) but pleasantly surprised by the rum. The 40% didnt feel watered doen or diluted. The port maturation made the rum quite sweet without being cloying. Should have bought additional bottles when I had the chance.

This is a fun rum that's very casky and delightful in flavour. Nosing Oak , soft apples , mangos Tasting Port wine , sherry and oak

War seinerzeit ein interessanter Einstieg in die Foursquare-Welt und zweifelsohne ein guter Rum. Vanille, Toffee, dazu etwas Frucht vom Portfass - sehr gefällig ohne Ecken und Kanten. Foursquare kann aber deutlich mehr, wenn mit höheren Prozenten abgefüllt wird - insofern heute wohl eher ein Sammelobjekt für FS-Liebhaber als ein qualitatives Ausrufezeichen der Exceptional Cask Series. Überzeugt aber als tadelloser Sipping-Rum.

A little bit 'meh' in the light of some of the more recent foursquare's but still a great rum, when it was released it was quite something! On the nose there's fruits and vanilla, same again on the palate with some oak and chocolate. The sweetness of the port cask finish is noticeable. Shortish finish. Definitly a collectors bottle these days!

Runder, leckerer Rum. Schöne Noten von Backgewürzen, Vanille, ein wenig Holz, schöne gelbe Früchte, Pfirsiche, sowohl in der Nase als auch im Mund keine Überraschung.

Pleasanton, aber nichts Außergewöhnliches
