The "Alambique Serrano Blend #6: Otoño" was produced in Mexico at the Cañada distillery. It was distilled from Sugar cane juice with a Column Still and then aged for 2 years 5mo. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 55,8%. This is a limited release and there are only 740 bottles. 5 community members rated this rum with an average of 7.6/10. This is just a baking spices bomb. Allspice, nutmeg, clove, etc. Honestly, Otoño is the perfect name for this. No clue how they get all the flavors to be there, but damn if this wouldnt make a great holiday grog!
A very minty, green nose. On the palate, these notes of peppermint, menthol and aniseed are directly present. A little too much for me.
Third day of tasting Alambique Serrano and the two stills really stand out. This is much lighter and lacks the fuel notes of the pot still expressions. The aging, however, unites all of the expressions and is incredibly complex. Otoño is very spice forward, with lots of clove, juniper or other conifer, and minty notes. The fruitiness is dialed down in this compared to the pot still expressions but there are some green fruit notes and maybe some cherry flavors coming from the wood.
