The Whisky Jury Uitvlugt (Port Mourant) The Many Faces Of Rum 1999

Es ist sehr zitronig und grasig. Und das Gras ist eine Art Wermut. Er ist ein Favorit. Der Abgang ist kurz. Ich mag Uitvlugt wahrscheinlich mehr als Jamaica, also ist es für mich in Ordnung, aber die meisten Leute werden es nicht mögen.

Leicht grasig, etwas Banane, etwas schwarzer Tee. Ganz lecker, aber beeindruckt mich nicht besonders.

An der Nase blumig-fruchtig (Steinobst, Maracuja), dazu altes Fass. Am Gaumen kandiert, Karton, Salzlake, aber auch etwas wässrig.

Somewhat mixed feelings here due to the key data. Nose ok. Grassy, earthy, woody and a little fruit. Quite thin in the mouth at first and, in my opinion, meaningless. But then the notes from the nose come to the fore. Plus a subtle "perfume note" (floral). Quite a short finish.

Das Port Mourant-Profil ist schon erkennbar, aber leider ist er etwas dünn, aber dafür natürlich sehr geschmeidig. In Abgang leichte torfige Whisky Note.

Dieser Uitvlugt von The Whisky Jury kann mich nicht so wirklich begeistern. In der Nase nehme ich recht süssliche Aromen von Kirsche und gleichgelagerten Früchten wahr, dass mich eher an einen Ten Cane erinnert. Am Gaumen dann die zu erwartenden Aromen, aber leider in viel zu dünnem Verhältnis. Alkohol ist nicht spürbar. Der Abgang ist relativ kurz.

Relativ starke Nase. Relativ ledrige Gewürze sind hier am Start. Am Gaumen kann ich Kernobst schmecken ... Apfel oder Birne. Fast schon etwas Calvados ähnliche Noten sind ebenfalls dabei. Kein Anfängerrum. Bleibt gut stehen im Nachgang.

Another rum that leaves me somewhat perplexed. Basically a typical Port Mourant with pencil shavings, some wood and leather and a slight, not unpleasant bitter note. The whole thing is disturbed by a sour note both on the nose and in the mouth. On the one hand, this is an interesting variation, but on the other hand, in my opinion, it is a false note that ruins the PM profile.

Naja... Erinnert mich iwie mehr an Gin wie an Rum. Hat was von Wacholder-Destillat, altem, nassem Schuhkarton und dazu diese seltsame leichte Säure und Mineralität. Ganz komisch, wirkt auch extrem verwässert, auch vermute ich hier ein ex Scotch Fass, wirkt leicht torfig salzig im Abgang. Schade.

I tasted this and felt there was not a to going on. Some herbal notes and not particularly complex considering the distillery. A lot of people are giving scores in the 8s and then say “not particularly impressed”. I got nowhere near that and I think it’s fine - as it says on the tin, it’s “pleasant” but not much else!
