"8:On the nose, this rum is complex, elegant, the wood is toasted, buttery, fresh, lively, we find very roasted side of this rum with nuts, coffee, caramelized red fruits and some chocolate. Quickly tobacco find its way out, smokiness is present, bacon can be scented, some herbal notes also. 8,5:On the palate it is rich, smooth, velvety, spicy, sweet, oaky, thick with darker side of the rum with roasted nuts, coffee, some cherries, later vanilla, bourbon, red fruits, toffee, brown sugar is caramelized. Tobacco is again our companion.We taste a bit bitter cocoa. 43 ABV not felt at all. 8:The finish is long lasting, woody, roasted, palate notes linger on. Bit dry in the end-finished in cognac cask. Well balanced, rounded, one of better Spanish style rums. Rivalry of Zacapa XO."
