Rum Nation Caroni Small Batch Rare Rums
The "Small Batch Rare Rums" was produced in Trinidad at the Caroni distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Rum Nation. It was distilled in 1998 from Molasses and then aged for 25 years 10mo. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 59%. This is a limited release and there are only 1080 bottles. 6 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.7/10. The rum smells like Tar, Rubber and Whisky, and on the palate there is Tar, Dirty and Oak.

Warum muss man einen 98er caroni 70 Monate in ein Whisky Fass stecken? Alles was hier geil werden hätte können, wurde damit zunichte gemacht. Verschenktes Potential. Da sind 250€ für einen 98er caroni immer noch zu viel da das Finish ihn enorm abwertet... Kann man schon trinken aber hier hat rum nation Mal wieder einen sicherlich tollen Rum "verschlimmbessert"... Schade!

02-03-2024 Tasted at Whiskymessen.dk Second rum was this Caroni. The entire group was fond of this. Liked the hint of whisky. Not a bottle I would buy, but glad to have a extra sample on the shelf 😉
15/03/25: tasted @ Brussels Rhum Festival. Note: I was experiencing severe palate fatigue. Another rare gem pulled from under the desk. You can never say no when you get the opportunity to taste a Caroni. Very nice nose and palate, I liked it. Nice dram to end the festival with!
