The Whisky Agency T.D.L Heads & Tails, Canada 1999

Solides Teil am Gaumen, ein eher klassischer Rum, das typische Profil der Vintages 2001-2003 ist nur leicht zu erahnen. Insgesamt aber eher unspektakulär.

Ganz so schlecht finde ich ihn nicht, aber normalerweise sind TDL besser. Nase besteht für mich überwiegend aus Whisky, ansonsten ist noch etwas Alkohol zu erkennen. Am Gaumen dann sehr scharfkantig, ansonsten vielleicht noch etwas Schokolade und Karamell erkennbar.

On the nose the profile is distinctly different to the 2000s TDLs. Less complexity with a more Spanish style showing. Caramel, some chocolate accompanied by some fruits. Alcohol is a bit to present even after plenty time in the glas. Overall not bad, but also not overly exiting. On the palate, this one is very smooth to drink - to frame it positively. The rum feels watered down leaving a rather unexciting profile. Sweetness, some chocolate with hints of tropical fruits.

Phew, so if all TDLs from the 1999 vintage, which I've never tasted before, are as whisky-like as this bottling, then the vintage can stay stolen from me. No comparison to the bottlings of the following millennium.

Der Alkohol ist nicht so präsent, aber insgesamt hat der Rum wenig Geschmack. Wirkt sehr verdünnt, wenig Geschmack, adstringierend, erinnert mich an einen kontinentalen Clarendon. Insgesamt nicht so mein Fall.

This T.D.L is a disappointment... weak aromas on the nose, as well as on the palate... and also quite one-dimensional ... alcohol barely perceptible. The dilution is too strong. Too bad... I had expected more

Not extra bad rum, but definitely not TDL profile Beautiful matt for a bottle under 100e. Alcohol can be felt, but very drinkable. I recommend it even to beginner rums for discovering new flavours. TDL mate is an unmistakable taste that you will never get tired of.

Jetzt den T.D.L . Auch ich finde diesen Rum eher schwach, ich frage mich ob es überhaupt Rum ist. Schmeckt wie ein Whisky.. Ich bin kein Freund von Whisky. Im Geschmack ein wenig Würze zu erkennen. Muss man nicht getrunken haben, wenn man Whisky mag könnte er interessant sein.

Ich habe diesen Rum in einem Blindtest verkostet. Er hat viele Ester und ist säuerlich im Geschmack, die fermentierten Noten scheinen zu stark zu sein, er ist eher würzig und stechend. Er ist holzig und trocken, und wenn man ein oder zwei Tropfen Wasser hinzufügt, entfaltet sich der Geschmack nicht - er ist ganz anders als ein traditioneller Rum aus Trinidad. Ich weiß nicht, ob der Stil von Fernandez so sein soll, aber ich mag ihn einfach nicht. Ich glaube, ich habe ihn zu sehr schlecht geredet, aber wenn Sie Almanache oder saure Spirituosen mögen, ist er vielleicht einen Versuch wert :)

Also das soll wirklich ein Rum sein und dann auch noch ein T.D.L? Bin mir da wirklich nicht sicher, wenn es nicht auf dem Sample stehen würde und es eine Blindverkostung gewesen wäre, wäre das Fazit definitiv schlechter Whisky gewesen. Nein, das was immer es auch ist hat mir nicht geschmeckt und ist im Abfluss anstatt im Mund oder gar Cola gelandet. Für mich nicht trinkbar
