Plantation Jamaica (LMDW) new vibrations HJF

Hampden the way I like it. Intense tropical fruits and dried fruits, allspice, cinnamon and star anise as well as yeast dough and almond croissants, some vanilla yoghurt and passion fruit and minimal saltiness. Very cool, delicious, dangerously palatable and balanced! I would love to compare it with the old plantation hjf predecessor...😍

At first, the nose is full of glue, varnish and solvents. Over time, the sweet/ripe tropical fruits become more and more apparent. Alcohol well integrated. In direct comparison with the OB HJF 2008 (RX12021), I couldn't identify a loser. I like both bottlings very much and - unsurprisingly - they are quite similar. The PLV should be positively emphasized here again!

Slightly too astringent but we are talking on a pretty high level here. A real fruity Ester bomb.

Ein Hampden mit einer vergessenen Mark (HJF), der dennoch ein unvergessliches Erlebnis bietet. In der Nase füllt die Lawine überreifer tropischer Früchte die Nasenlöcher mit Noten von Marzipan und Karamell, um eine Tonne Leckereien zu liefern. Auf der anderen Seite sorgen Ester und phenolische Aromen sowie Lauge für die funkige Seite. Eine gierige, kraftvolle und ausgewogene Kombo. Der Auftakt am Gaumen behält die Kraft und die Vollmundigkeit bei, um ein köstliches und süffiges Profil zu erzeugen. Es ist ein wahrer Frucht-Tsunami, der am Gaumen alles niederwalzt: Banane, Ananas, Mango, Passionsfrucht und Limette verleihen den medizinischen Noten und den neu in den Mund gekommenen Gewürzen Charakter. Das Ganze ist ein Genuss von großer Rundheit und dennoch sehr lebhaft, aber dennoch ausgewogen. Der Alkohol ist gut integriert. Der Abgang, auch wenn er an sich keine neuen Aromen preisgibt, ist ebenso großzügig wie lang und berauschend. Wir haben hier ein echtes Funk-Konzentrat, sowohl von Früchten als auch von Gebäck und Artgenossen. Ein großartiger Hampden, der in Bezug auf das Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis jeder Konkurrenz trotzt.

Very good. Great little peppery note. Not many HJF on the market but they seem to be very enjoyable.

Sehr schöne Abfüllung. Erfüllt imo alle Hampden-Boxen mit höherem Ester. Sehr fruchtig und gut ausbalanciert mit Noten aus dem Fass und einigen gerösteten Noten. Sehr intensiv und trotz seines hohen ABV sehr leicht zu trinken.

Super Hampden high ester, der an seinen Kumpel aus 2002 erinnert, aber mit nur 60% trinkbarer ist 😂. Liebhaber dieses Stils werden ihn zu diesem Preis lieben, das ist klar.

Great bottling. Personally, a little too flat for an even better rating. But I am very happy to have received a bottle. Finish really concise. 85/100

Eine Hampden-Nase, ohne zu zögern. Von der Art eines guten Hampden quibolus est. Fruchtig,funky, Lösungsmittel, Ester. Man spürt, dass es im Mund explodieren wird. Der Eindruck bestätigt sich. Es ist sehr gut. Er ist intensiv, aber der Alkohol ist gut eingebunden. Früchte, Ester, Holz, Lösungsmittel, Klebstoff. All das vermischt sich wunderbar. Toller Hampden.

This is a difficult case for me.... I miss the overripe fruit on the nose... the acidity is too high for me... the yoghurt and olive content doesn't quite fit for me either. The palate and finish are more to my taste. The fruit and wood are in harmony here Edit: I mistyped the scale 😌

Intense, very fruity Hampden - brings everything you'd expect from a good high ester rum without explicitly shining or standing out with special flavors.

Wild. And unstable, the alcohol is not fully integrated
