You don't necessarily want to sit on a saddle in chocolate, but the smell it leaves behind is awesome. This young REV definitely has notes of the old one that are even more fruity. The raisin-laced forest honey on the tongue paired with honey makes the bees buzz in the forest. At the latest in the finish, the rum is completely convincing and, as the little brother of the 94 REV, has nothing to hide.

Sehr schöne Abfüllung 😍. Nase: Starke Guyana-Noten Gaumen: Komplexe Struktur, ohne würzig oder bitter/astig zu sein! Erstaunlich! Die ersten paar Sekunden im Mund schmeckt er nach "Fruchtschnaps", was ich nicht mochte.... Abgang: Lang mit schönen Guyana-Noten! Der Alkohol ist perfekt eingearbeitet!

8,9:On the nose, the first impression we get is fruity, grassy and roasted. There are dried fruits like raisins, blackcurrant, sour cherry, tropical like banana. We might think of a sherry. The wood is charred, roasted, as there is some burnt sugar. The molasses is vegetal with tobacco and mint notes. When aired a bit, more bourbon yellow fruits come out, there is very tempting peach, orange or orange peel. The molasses becomes darker with licorice, umami. Very balanced and round. 9,2:On the palate, the attack is spicy, roasted and fruity, as our tasting buds are occupied with a lot of different, but nicely pairing notes as dried fruits from sherry, bourbon yellow fruits, charred wood notes as caramel, maple, nuts and dark molasses with licorice and herbal touch, a bit bitter. The rum becomes dry and malty. After nice rest, there are tropical fruits like mango, mandarine, banana, cherry, a whiff of some grass. 8,9:The finish is long, everything from the palate melts into delicious marmelade with mocha touch. Damn' I like this one..Top.😋

For me, a complete and round, very intense rum with delicious roasted almonds and a delicate spiciness. Gingerbread, pleasant sweetness and a good alcohol balance.

Really dangerous the stuff. The first bottle was empty before I even came to evaluate... I have long thought about whether I can give him 9.0 points - but had never so quickly a bottle of rum empty and although he is quite a bit younger, I find him more exciting than the 94 REV of FRC . Compared to the 94Revs, which I have tasted so far, he has of course not yet their complexity, but it is still a real powerhouse with excellent integrated alcohol. In the nose first plum and molasses / licorice - on the palate are then added herbs and a mild, pleasant bitter note. The finish is relatively restrained but still persistent on the palate and goes at some point einfasch tastes in cane sugar, although the rum remains long on the tongue and you can taste the molasses / licorice notes there even longer. Also in cocktails, unfortunately, he does much better than he should, because he is just damn round, but still brings a lot of flavor with him

Fantastic REV at a really good price-performance ratio! Beautiful dark red fruits paired with molasses, wood and tobacco. Complexity without end! Alcohol very well integrated! So Guyana makes fun!

Beautiful typical REV notes, very dark dried fruits, wood (oak), dark chocolate, light roasted flavors and the 56% are super integrated. Top bottling and absolutely great and fair in terms of price.

The color in the glass alone whets the appetite for this rum. The smell is intensely light fruit and a full can of wood and dark spice. With a little distance then also dark chocolate and leather. In the mouth it starts mild and becomes more and more intense. Wood, roasted aromas, caramel, dark chocolate that makes it to the finish. The alcohol is very well integrated, I really like it.

Das ist mal eine Preisleistungsbombe mit einer äußerst fruchtigen und intensiven Nase. Dörrpflaume, dunkle Beeren, Karamell und leichte Röstaromen geben den Ton an. Dahinter Leder, Tabak, dunkle Schokolade und Lakritze. Ebenso intensiv und vielschichtig ist er auch am Gaumen. Die wärmende, tiefe Aromenpracht wird beflügelt von schönen Holz- und Lakritzenoten, welche sehr gut mit Dörrpflaume, Leder, Karamell und Datteln zusammenkommen. Der mittlere bis lange Abgang hat wie zu erwarten eine angenehme Fruchtigkeit und eine tolle Würze, welche durch die Tannine beinahe in richtung Kräuter geht. Die tropische Reifung hat eine wirklich beachtliche Färbung hinterlassen. Vorallem für Guyana-Fans eine klare Empfehlung.

Verkostung parallel mit dem Nobilis RX12424. Die Nase bringt typische Guyana REV Noten. Allen voran getrocknete dunkle Früchte, Eiche, Röstaromen, gebrannten Zucker und Malz. Der Nobilis wirkt eine Winzigkeit intensiver. Am Gaumen legen die Röstnoten nochmal zu und dominierten den ersten Eindruck. Nach und nach scheinen auch die anderen Komponenten durch und ergeben ein ausgewogenes Bild. Der Nachklang ist für mich am interessantesten weil hier wunderbar gewürztes Pflaumenmus und Rosinen auftauchen. Auch Bitterkeit ist da aber im Rahmen. Das ist die Art von Rum die ich gerne im Winter vor dem Kamin genieße. Dieser Rum ist dem genannten Nobilis zum verwechseln ähnlich eventuell ist beim Rum Club Ed 39 der Alkohol besser eingebunden.

Guter Rum mit klasse PLV! Macht richtig Spass. DNA der Revs ist vorhanden, jedoch etwas biestig verglichen mit den 94er Jahrgängen. Dennoch sind die Typischen Noten vorhanden. Süsse, Holz Gewürz sowie Frucht.

Tasted in direct comparison with the RomDeluxe 2006 REV (53%). In the end, both are on a par for me. I like the SoR a little better on the palate and the RDL on the nose. Edit: I like it much better when I tasted it again. +0,3

#4280 06.10.2023 habe diese Probe von Rum Depot mit einer Bestellung erhalten und es ist ein wirklich guter Rum. Das Preisschild ich auch ziemlich gut. Wow, das ist ein wirklich guter Rum. Sehr gut und gut ausbalanciert. Intensiv auf eine gute Art und Weise mit starken Holz- und Röstnoten. Es gibt eine natürliche Süße und die Frucht ist ein wenig im Hintergrund. Am Gaumen ist er warm und leicht trocken. Der Abgang ist lang, trocken und warm. Im Profil ist eine leichte medizinische Note zu erkennen. Zieht wirklich schöne, sich langsam bewegende Vorhänge im Glas. Das leere Glas hat leichten Lack und schwache Ledernoten, die im schweren Holz versteckt sind.

The finish is heavy and long with tannin, wood and burnt caramel. With a little more complexity it could well have landed in the 90 point range .

Spirit of Rum hat mit diesem REV-Rum aus dem Jahr 2006 einen großen Wurf gelandet. Die Nase ist ultrakonzentriert. Die dunklen Noten der dunklen Demerara kommen mit verbranntem Zucker, Röstnoten, dunkler Schokolade, Kaffee, Leder, Gewürzen (Lakritze, Anis, Piment) und einem sehr ausgeprägten verbrannten Holz zum Vorschein. Trockenfrüchte (Pflaumen, Trauben) und Kräuternoten (Tabak, schwarzer Tee) liegen schwer und drückend in der Nase. Eines der demonstrativsten Profile unter den jungen REVs. Am Gaumen nimmt die aromatische Konzentration mit geröstetem Holz, Leder, (dunkler) Schokolade, Gewürzen (Lakritze, Vanille, Pfeffer, Anis), Melasse und verbranntem Zucker zu. Trockenfrüchte sind immer noch da, rund, dunkel und als Begleitung zu schwarzem Tee und Tabak. Das Profil ist gleichzeitig reichhaltig, lecker und leicht bitter und bietet mehrere sehr angenehme Facetten. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert. Der Abgang ist lang, sehr trocken, bitter und tanninhaltig. Holz, dunkle Noten an der Grenze zum Verbrannten, Zucker (ebenfalls verbrannt), Melasse, Gewürze (Lakritze und Pfeffer im Zelt), Leder, Schokolade, Kaffee und Trockenfrüchte sorgen für viel Opulenz, bevor eine kleine Frische mit Tabak und Kräuternoten kommt. Man findet einen warmen, konzentrierten, fast malzigen Rum. Ein großartiger Guyana-Rum der Neuzeit, vor allem wenn man die Mark und den Jahrgang betrachtet.
