The "The Spirit of Art" was produced in Grenada. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Valinch & Mallet. It was distilled in 1993 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 30 years. The rum has an ABV of 57,7%. This is a limited release and there are only 252 bottles. 17 community members rated this rum with an average of 7.2/10. The rum smells like Woody, Alcoholic and Roasted, and on the palate there is Vanilla, Woody and Alcoholic.

#4120 Ich hatte mich auf diesen alten Rum gefreut, aber er war eher enttäuschend. Selbst nach einer sehr langen Ruhezeit war das ABV immer noch irgendwie dominant und hat die anderen Aromen überdeckt. Geröstetes Holz kommt an zweiter Stelle, gefolgt von saftigen Früchten, Gewürzen und Karamell. Zieht schöne Vorhänge im Glas und das leere Glas hat einige Tabak- und Ledernoten.
Interesting nose. Taste on the rather sweet side with vanilla, toffee, some wood and subtle spices. Not much more happens - enough for a pleasing sipper, but is also not a revelation for a rum aged for thirty years.
Hmm I try to ignore the crazy price point. But this is a rough Grenada that is alcoholic and has virtually no integration. A lot of Spanish multi column that really worries me how terrible this was 30 years earlier
Unbelievable that after 30 years of storage, the alcohol is still poorly integrated and not much comes across in taste other than neutral alcohol.
