Elizabeth Yard Diamond Single Cask Rum
The "Single Cask Rum" was produced in Guyana at the Diamond distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Elizabeth Yard. It was distilled in 2011 from Molasses with a Double Wooden Pot Still and then aged for 10 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 52,2%. #4100 This is a very rare bottle and I'm happy i got a sample. After resting for a good while it opens up really nice with some fruit and caramel. The spices and the wood is nicely balanced. Draws really nice curtains in the glass and the empty glass is really nice and I can pick up some chocolate and pastry notes. Pretty dark for the age in my mind.
Ein Rum, der beim Rum and Gin Festival in Luzern verkostet wurde. Eine Nase mit Süße, würzig und mit getrockneten Aprikosen. Der Mund ist vollmundig mit einer schönen Tiefe. Die Aromatik ist schön, aber relativ einfach. Das Sherry-Finish kommt sehr gut durch. Zweifellos ein schöner Rum und sehr gut gemacht.
