The "Wild Series Rum No. 38 MBFSWM" was produced in Barbados at the Foursquare distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Romdeluxe. It was distilled in 2007 from Molasses with a Pot and Column Still and then aged for 15 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 61,2% and the mark is MBFSWM. "A Foursquare matured for 15 years in an ex-Mslt whisky cask? Do I like that? But maybe that makes something different out of the - from my point of view - often very similar 4eck's (and no Oloroso 😉 isn't bad either). Nose: fresh and fruity, with lots of green apple, lime and lemon. Also gooseberry and a little sour cherry. You can clearly smell the malt cask (nothing peaty, a soft Highland perhaps). The freshness is underlined by peppers. Slightly caramelly on the finish. 8,0 Palate: Tart fruit predominates; gooseberry, redcurrant and lime. This makes it very fresh, but also somewhat metallic. The malt whisky also comes through very clearly here. A little nutmeg adds a light spiciness. Lime again on the finish, slightly metallic and a little salty. 7.8 A slightly different Foursquare, not bad, but the whisky cask has become a little too dominant over the 15 years."
