No. 31 REV

After some additional tastings of this gem, and as my rum experience evolves - I had to reevaluate the score. Dark, complex, round, opulent. High abv perfectly integrated. Notes of wood, leather, salty caramel, dark chocolate, licorice, fruits (dried plums and figs). Some bitterness is present, but not excessive. Molasses. Oily. You can feel the years it has spent in a cask. Once again I would like to emphasise the complexity of this rum. For special occasions and specific moods. Only downside remains the price, but nevertheless - excellent rum. One additional note - you need to leave this in the glass for some time. No water needed. Just patience and right mood. 95/100

A REV with a slightly higher rotation, which is somewhat unusual. Suits the bottling very well! Rather bitter and more woody. I like it though. The higher ABV gives the rum more complexity.

A little comparison of two, 28yo REV... that will be nice 🥰. Here's the second one, from Nobilis:Nose: a bit more restrained at the start than the Greenheart, even if this one has more %. Then it comes around though. Again, nicely complex, full-bodied and round. Spicy-woody-roasty with neat sour molasses and licorice and again, lightly delicious Maggi. Soft, salty caramel and dark, soft prune. Super pleasant. 9.2Palate: oh how nice. Intense, complex, powerful and round. Sourly bitter at first, but totally pleasant, then toasty-malty-woody and charred. Lots of tart licoricey molasses and chocolate with mocha. All of this with the elevated ABV is a mega total package. 9.4There you go again saying that sugar couleur or rum caramel has no impact on flavor... REVs or old Demeraras at all tell me otherwise. But I do like this. Very much!!!

Beautiful REV once again. On a similar level as the Greenheart.

Delicious REV with a nice nose and an elegant bitterness on the palate - in the mouth less fruit emphasized but really nice and above all drinkable notes of bitterness. All in all, a REV that has many of the qualities I like about 1991 KFMs.

Once again an excellent REV! Complex, rather on the woody side, with a slightly bitter but very long finish.

Nobilis hat bei der Auswahl dieses Enmore ganze Arbeit geleistet. Die Nase ist sehr reich, tief und elegant. Trockenfrüchte (Pflaume, Rosine) und Pflaume sind schwer und köstlich, blumige und kräuterige Noten (auf schwarzem Tee) sind erfrischender, während das dunkle Profil von Demerara die Nasenlöcher mit edlem Holz, warmen Gewürzen (Lakritze, Vanille, Pfeffer), dunkler Schokolade, Kaffee, Röstnoten und Leder füllt. Auch gekochtes Karamell und gebrannter Zucker sind zu finden. Ein wahrer Genuss für die Nase. Im Mund ist der Auftakt besonders dunkel. Die Röstnoten sind vorherrschend, wobei dunkle Schokolade, Leder und Kaffee für Bitterkeit sorgen. Außerdem findet man Holz und Gewürze (Lakritze, Anis, Pfeffer, Chili, Vanille) sowie Malz, die dem Gaumen Wärme verleihen. Es ist sehr wärmend, wie ein Kaminfeuer während eines rauen Winterabends. Rote Früchte und Pflaumen sind immer noch präsent, neben aromatischen Kräutern, duftendem Tee und Blumen. Der Alkohol ist sehr gut integriert. Der Abgang ist lang, verliert aber etwas an Aromen, da Bitterkeit und Hitze ziemlich ausgeprägt sind und die Sinne dämpfen. Tabak, Lakritz, Malz, Gewürze, Leder, Holz, Melasse, dunkle Schokolade und Kaffee dominieren das Geschehen auf Kosten von Trockenfrüchten und Kräutern. Das Profil bleibt dennoch charmant, komplex und warm. Ein sehr dunkler Enmore, der meisterhaft mit den Grenzen der Alterung spielt, ohne dabei seinen Glanz zu verlieren.

Ein weiterer sehr schöner 94 REV. Mehr auf der holzigen Seite mit einem Gefühl von Süße schwarzer Tee. Am Gaumen nur ein paar Anklänge von Trockenfrüchten mit einer zusätzlichen Spur Bitterkeit im Abgang. Erfüllt dennoch alle Erwartungen.

Erkennbar kraftvoller als andere REV-Abfüllungen aus 1994 dank des höheren Alkoholgehalts. Die Alkoholintegration ist dabei gut gelungen, aber auch das höhere Alter im Vergleich zu anderen Releases wird erkennbar - die kontinentalen REVs scheinen mit 25 oder 26 Jahren Reifung ihren Zenit zu erreichen, anschliessend treten die Fasseinflüsse, Gewürze und Röstaromen zunehmend in den Vordergrund. Das so gefällige REV-Profil mit getrockneter Pflaume, Leder und Lakritznoten wird dadurch zwar komplexer, aber auch etwas weniger süffig. Mir sind die ausgewogeneren Releases persönlich etwas lieber, unterm Strich bleibt das aber alles Kritik auf hohem Niveau - dieses Release ist unbestritten ein exzellenter Rum.

This is a REV of the heavy dark kind that needs its time! It is dark and complex, not light but of exquisite quality, the nose is already very intense with dried fruit, wood, black tea, licorice and burnt caramel. These aromas continue throughout the tasting, excellent

the Nobilis 94 Enmore REV / 28 yo competes against the TRC 94 Enmore REV / 29 yo. The higher ABV of the Nobilis is definitely noticeable, but not distracting. Both are nicely balanced, with the typical markers of dried fruit (prune), tobacco, malt, herbs. The TRC comes across a bit more red currant. Probably due to the higher ABV, the Nobilis still seems a bit more sweet-caramel, likewise on the palate. Both top, but the TRC I like (today) still a nuance better.

Beautiful bottling of the REV vintage. An example of how exquisite products can also be created with additives in rum. The bottling is complex, albeit slightly woody in the overall picture. The fruity notes are more restrained than others. But the black tea in particular is very present. Delicious.

Also again a horny REV with a slightly different profile than I know it! Clearly spicier, warmer and less floral. Has almost something of dark malt beer, plus dried fig, dark chocolate and smoky stout, as well as a lot of tree resin. Delicious! Alcohol top integrated!

Well, here we have the egg-laying wool-milk sow! So many aromas in one glass - gigantic! Menthol, pepper, tobacco, fruit, roasted aromas, wood etc.... A whole range of REV94. I need a bottle....! Now
