"A great rum for bourbon drinkers! If you have some bourbon drinking friends, let them give this one a try! It’s got great barrel aged flavor with a nice sweetness that rounds out the whole experience. Wonderfully smooth as well with a nice round flavor and a beautiful finish."
"Molasses-y, fairly rich, and full of burnt sugars, baking spices, bittersweet chocolate, and oak. A *very* barrel forward profile give this rum a more than passing resemblance to many higher aged bourbons. Fortunately, the hefty oak presence avoids becoming unpleasantly tannic or woody, a pitfall that I’ve found plagues many barrel aged spirits from Texas. It may not be the most unique or well rounded, but there’s a lot of flavor packed in here, and it’s interesting rum to try given it’s background."
"I tried the barrel 524 aged for 8 years and bottled at ALC 53.75%. Initial nose is quite good very fruit forward, on the taste is very woody not to my liking, but after adding some water it really gets better. With spices and nuts notes. The ending is nice."
