The "Extra Old Rum Single Cask" was produced in Mauritius at the Chamarel distillery. It was distilled in 2014 from Sugar cane juice with a Pot Still. The rum has an ABV of 45%. "Ein Rum, den ein Freund aus Mauritius mitgebracht hat, und laut ihm der beste Rum, der vor Ort verkostet wurde. Eine sehr landwirtschaftliche Nase mit tropischen Früchten und Vanille. Ein Mund, der vom neuen Holz geprägt ist, sehr elegant, mit einem Eindruck von Fruchtalkohol. Ein sehr technoider Abgang, aber ohne viel Emotion. Ein sehr gut gemachter Rum ohne Fehler."
"I tried it today at the distillery at Chamarel after a short tour. The distillery has a seasonal break now and will resume operation during the sugar cane harvest around August. The sugar cane is grown by the distillery, they use both green and red types. Distillery owns a column and a pot still. This one I tasted last. It's a blend of 2012 and 2014 vintages, aged for 8 years at the distillery. After all the sweet stuff this was really nice to have. For an Agricole rum I liked that the licorice and musty notes are not dominant. I didn't get the bottle though."
