CoR Worthy Park Jamaica No. 9 2006

Classic WP notes. Clearly on the more woody / roasted side. Alcohol is a bit to noticeable for a higher score.

#4188 This one is not that well balanced as the alcohol and wood are too dominant in my mind. Even with longer resting it doesnt really balance out. Fruity and very woody profile with an ABV out of balance. Price to quality is OK. The empty glass has some chocolate and coffee notes to it.

Nose: beautifully fruity, intense, banana, wood Palate: very dry, slightly bitter, not very fruity, wood I find the alcohol relatively well integrated at 60%. Conclusion: I find it a bit flat overall, would have expected more complexity on the palate due to the very nice nose.

Good, but without any highlights worth mentioning.

Ich habe eine kostenlose Probe dieses Rums von RumX erhalten. Es handelt sich um einen Worthy Park Pot Still, der 2006 destilliert wurde. Danach wurde er 1 Jahr lang tropisch gereift und weitere 15 Jahre in einem Ex-Rumfass gereift, bevor er in Fassstärke in 214 Flaschen zu 59,3% abgefüllt wurde. Insgesamt ein guter Rum, der nicht ganz an die eigenen Abfüllungen von Worthy Park heranreicht, was vielleicht daran liegt, dass er überwiegend kontinental gereift ist.

Nase schön Fruchtig , Zitrusfrüchte, etwas Banane und minimal Annas. Leichte Esternoten... Im Mund erst Süßlich dann dominiert erstmal Alkohol (nicht sehr gut eingebunden) . Frucht hier deutlich weniger aber immernoch vorhanden. Fasseinfluß macht sich am Gaumen sehr deutlich bemerkbar. Abgang eher kurz/mittel mit Bitterkeit und leicht adstringierend.

Second tasting: no new findings, rating unchanged The nose starts typically Jamaican intense with fruit and barrel notes. The palate is very alcoholic and only pale fruity.Instead, the tannins from the barrel come through more strongly.The medium-long finish is almost entirely the toasty notes.Interesting for Worthy Park, I had expected a fruitier profile.

Alkoholnote im Abgang leicht störend. Andonsten ohne Fehlboten aber recht überschaulich im Geschmack. Kein schlechter Rum, aber dennoch mit über 100 Euro meiner Meinung nach etwas zu teuer.

This WP nearly lacks the classic fruit flavors and almost has only wood and spices coming through. I expected more….
