The "Old Demerara Rum (Whisky Paris)" was produced in Guyana at the Enmore distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Precious Liquors. It was distilled in 1991 and then aged for 31 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 48,4%. This is a limited release and there are only 168 bottles. 12 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.8/10. The rum smells like Musty, Black tea and Burnt sugar, and on the palate there is Black tea, Intense and Musty.

Smooth, integrated, full taste. Just the profile is too sour for me.
Tasted at Ian Burrell’s Masterclass at UK RumFest. For me it leads with the burnt suger profile that is typical of Guyanan rums and perhaps a Port Mourant. I had spotted the Precious Drops stand and though this might be their Black Cat (particularly also because there was a second Guyanan rum which I thought could be the White Cat). Turns out I was wrong on the bottle but right on the still and bottler. I thought the younger PM had the edge as the Musty notes could be taken as unpleasant, but this had a lot of intensity and maybe with a little more time could have had more to explore. Either way a very good and interesting rum.
