T.D.L Plantation Trinidad (Excellence Rhum)
The "Plantation Trinidad (Excellence Rhum)" was produced in Trinidad at the T.D.L distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler Maison Ferrand. It was distilled in 2009 from Molasses with a Column Still and then aged for 13 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 52,4%. This is a limited release and there are only 150 bottles. 9 community members rated this rum with an average of 8.1/10. Dégusté en sample. Super concept d'un caviste bordelais qui propose différentes bouteilles dans des flacons de 70cl en auto-service. 👃 Premier nez assez en retrait, des fruits secs comme sur un vieil Ugni Blanc, fruits à chair blanche, légère fleurs d'arbres fruitiers. Puis, de la crème vanille, du caramel, du miel et des agrumes (mandarine, orange). C'est rond et doux. On sent l'ajout de sucre, dommage. 😋 Première bouche assez décevante, vanille légère, fruits secs, fruits blancs grillés. Puis après avoir laissé le verre s'aérer, on retrouve certaines des caractéristiques TDL. Boisson au thé glacé à la pêche avec de la menthe fraîche. Sympa. Alcool bien intégré. ⛳ Assez courte. Des épices, menthe légère, pêche, un peu de cassis léger. Pas le dram du siècle mais facile à boire. Je ne comprends pas le finish en fût de vin blanc liquoreux hongrois. Certainement pour arrondir les angles.
Nice but not crazy, a touch of acidity that goes well with the classic TDL notes of blackcurrant and menthol (quite light here). Tasty and pleasant.
