Was für eine Tiefe! Zwischen Früchten, Lakritze, leichtem Rauch, einer beeindruckenden Integration des Alkohols, wirklich ein sehr schöner Fiji!

Superkiel, herrliche Nase und betörender Mund!

A beastly, aromatic Fiji rum. The nose offers a beautiful basket of fruit (banana, pineapple, mango, apple, lime, grapefruit) that fills the nostrils with greed and gains in intensity as time goes by. Slightly smoky oak is accompanied by sweet spices (vanilla, cinnamon, pepper, salty notes) and medicinal notes tending towards the empyreumatic (varnish, polish, rubber). An expressive nose with a broad, balanced aromatic spectrum. The attack on the palate is powerful, with 65.6% more lively and warm than on the nose. Despite this, it's the fruit perceived on the nose that stands out on the palate, notably tart apple and exotic fruit. Spices (cinnamon, licorice) assist the profile before giving way to more smoky, phenolic notes (tar, rubber, polish, varnish). The profile remains quite subtle despite its power, which makes it all the more appealing. The finish is very long, warm, smoky, mineral and rubbery. There's a fresh, dry breath on the palate, accompanied by fruit, oak and slightly warmer spices, correlating with the impression on the finish. Plantation is a fine cuvée that stands out for its delicacy and gourmandise, which contrast wonderfully with its assertive power.

Wow! Fantastic tropical notes. I like it very much! However, it's not a typical Fiji rum. Very special!

31.12.2022 Our yearly New Year party where we try new rums mixed with the personal bests. Notes Medium dark in colour. Nose Intense, fresh, light wood, burnt, fruity, banana, faint marzipan, spice, light chocolate, Palate Intense, spicy, light wood, faint smoke, fruits, banana, light medicinal, faint chocolate, light floral, faint tar, faint marzipan. Finish Long and warm, light wood, faint smoke, fruits, banana, medium spicy, faint floral, iodine. Extra note. Needs to rest for a good while before it releases all of its secrets.

For fidji typical strong rubber and varnish/polish nose. Together with bitter orange, green pepper, milk chocolate and licorice, plus intense roasted aromas on the finish and generally lots of bitter notes and tannins, which could be due to the cognac finish. However, the cognac finish also rounds it off and makes it somewhat more harmonious.

Beim 2007er Jahrgang dominieren tropische Früchte, die ihre Stärken galant ausspielen; dazu gesellen sich leichte Süsse von Gebäck und Zucker sowie florale Aromatik. Das alles spielt auch am Gaumen prima auf, der Alkohol ist bestens integriert. Die Fruchtmelange weiss zu begeistern und bietet durchaus Komplexität, leichte Tabakaromen, etwas herbe Würzigkeit sowie Röstaromen vom Fass kommen dazu. Insgesamt bleibt das Spektrum dennoch etwas zu geradlinig, es fehlen die präsenten Gegenpole zur herbal-fruchtigen Frische und damit die weiteren aromatischen Einflüsse, die für zusätzliche Spannung sorgen könnten. Das bleibt aber schon fast der einzige Makel an diesem Rum, der grundsätzlich absolut zu überzeugen weiss.

Solid Fiji. Alcohol and finish very dominant. Could have used a little less of everything.

Toller Fifschi mit ordentlich Power. Das Cognac-Finish ist recht dominant.

Eine krachende Nase, leichte Banane, Vanille und einige leichtere Zitrusfrüchte mit Grapefruit. Der Mund ist weniger ausgewogen, öffnet sich aber gut, erinnert an einen St. Lucia Pot Still, mit grünem Pfeffer und süßerem Gebäck und Mangonoten. Der Abgang ist der schwächste Teil, etwas mehr Zitrusfrüchte, Zitronenschalen neben Milchschokolade. Angesichts des Alkoholgehalts ist dieser Rum leicht zu trinken und einen Versuch wert. Nicht ganz ein außergewöhnlicher Fidschi-Rum, aber auf dem Weg dorthin, ein wenig zu dünn im Mund, aber ansonsten wirklich gut zusammengestellt.
