Romdeluxe Long Pond Wild Series Rum Jamaica No. 26 VRW 2005

Gefällt mir genauso gut wie die Abfüllung im Schwesterfass.

On the nose tropical fruit basket (papaya, mango...), glue, caramel and that typical vinegar-iodine note. On the palate tropical fruit, dark chocolate and bacon. The 68.4% is well integrated....and VRW Marque is just tops at LP! I would have liked to try the sister barrel....

Anfangs von Aceton, Akazienhonig und Enkaustik geprägt, nervöser Auftakt im Mund mit Alkohol, dann eine schöne fruchtig-exotische Aromenentwicklung von mittlerer Komplexität, die vor allem durch den Alkohol in der Länge unterstützt wird, am Ende recht interessant, aber auch nicht explosiv.

Ein Rum aus dem Samples de Luxe-Frontkalender. Eine ziemlich heftige Nase mit Leim, lackiertem altem Holz, tropischen Früchten und einer gewissen Süße. Der Mund greift ebenfalls stark an, aber mehr auf Früchte (Papaya) und sogar eine sehr angenehme pflanzliche und blumige Seite. Eine Seite von lackiertem Holz, wie in der Nase. Der Abgang ist lang, warm, mit Gewürzen und wie schwarzer Tee. Ein falscher Hardcore mit Komplexität und einer gewissen Süße. Ich liebe es!

I prefer this one to the sister barrel at 68.5 ... this one doesn't have the coconut note and somehow comes across as more longpondy.

Wieder zu Hause angekommen, hatte ich Lust auf ein paar weitere Rumsorten, warum also nicht einen wilden 😉 Ein sehr schöner und ausgewogener Rum mit schönen Estern und Früchten im Überfluss. Die Gewürze vervollständigen den Gesamteindruck.

Un Long Pond à sensations fortes. Le nez est puissant, très lourd sur les fruits tropicaux, les agrumes, l’abricot et les phénols (esters, colle, vernis). Vient ensuite la gourmandise sur le caramel, le toffee et le sucre brun. Il y a également des épices (vanille, cannelle), du tabac et des notes de boisé toasté en prime. Un profil intense mals avenant. Le côté avenant du nez s’efface complètement au palais : la bouche est extrêmement puissante et acérée, chaude et intense. On ressent une forte astringence, un côté métallique, pas mal d’épices (piment, cannelle) mais aussi du fumé, du fruité et des notes phénoliques. C’est comme un coup de marteau au palais. L’alcool est un peu trop agressif, une réduction aurait été la bienvenue. La finale est extrêmement longue, sèche et intense. Épicée, cacaotée, fumée, cafeinée et amère, le profil est aussi influencé par la réglisse et le thé noir. Un Long Pond qui propose une facette plus sombre et empyreumatique qu’à l’accoutumé, mais qui reste un peu trop extrême. Palais sensibles s’abstenir.

Wilder wild Series Rum, braucht ein wenig im Glas. Mit ein ein, zwei Tropfen Wasser öffnet er seine ganzen Aromen. Der Abgang könnte etwas länger sein, das verhindert leider eine bessere Bewertung. Auch finde ich den Preis ein wenig zu über ambitioniert.

Great, creamy mouthfeel, alcohol is wonderfully integrated. Flavor-wise, the wood dominates a bit too much here for me, I appreciate the tropical fruit basket especially in the VRW profile. In sum, nevertheless, a class rum.

On the nose very pleasantly fruity and mild, hardly noticeable ester, but cookie, vanilla and cinnamon! Overall very surprising!On the palate first classic LP: papaya, passion fruit and ester! Some wood and slight acidity join with a metallic tone to it!The alcohol is not so well integrated, however, there he falls ggü other LP's same vintage clearly!The finish is very pleasant, but not very long!A good, but not outstanding LP!
