Engenhos do Norte 970 Single Cask Edition
The "970 Single Cask Edition" was produced in Madeira at the Engenhos do Norte distillery. It was selected and bottled by the independent bottler J. Faria & Filhos. It was distilled in 2006 from Sugar cane juice with a Column Still and then aged for 13 years. The rum is bottled at cask strength and has an ABV of 52%. This is a limited release and there are only 225 bottles. 5 community members rated this rum with an average of 7.5/10. The rum smells like Woody, Pastries and Berries, and on the palate there is Cinnamon, Woody and Spicy.

This is a solid entry but lacks complexity to excel. Still nothing really unpleasant just a tiny bit uninteresting. They can certainly do a much better job and should be held to higher standards. But this is all right I guess
Alcohol could be a little better integrated, but taste a typical 970 with fruity notes of sweet wine, raisins etc.
The rum is well done. Madeira is just not one of my favourite.
