Macnair’s Exploration Rum Panama

Besser spät als nie: Aufnahme einer Verkostung am Ende der Flasche. Für mich ist dies ein angenehmer und unkomplizierter Rum zum Schlürfen, der auch gut zu Cola passt. Ziemlich süß mit Karamell- und Vanillenoten. Nichts allzu Besonderes, aber meiner Meinung nach sehr preiswert.

Erinnert mich stark an grasbrook 3 jährige😅😊

8:On the nose it is fresh, fruity and a bit sharp in the beginning. Smokiness is present all the time. A very kind nose with tropical fruits, hints of mango, some coconut and stone fruits, caramel .A gentle layer of milk chocolate makes this feel like a summery fruit-chocolate pie. In the beginning there is a slight spiciness. 7,4:On the palate warmer and sweeter than the nose suggests, there’s more spice and some added fruits. Bananas, mangos and oranges. This combines well with the still-present milk chocolate and some caramel, iodine also, some ashes, camp fire, a pinch of salt. 7,3:The finish is smoky, with tropical fruits and a bit of a spiciness. Etwas alkoholisch im ersten Moment. Karamell und leicht nussig, ein bisschen Rauch. Nicht sehr lange anhaltender Abgang

You definitely get the iodine and smoky notes from the peated cask finish on the nose. It dominates and it's hard to find much beyond. Clove and milk chocolate, perhaps. The palate follows from the nose but there's some tropical fruit and it's more earthy. The finish finally loses the iodine but the smoke still lingers. A hint of caramel. It's all a bit short though. It's different, something to try. Would I buy a full bottle of this. Maybe, but it would last a long time on the shelf.

Mit einem kurzen bis mittleren Abgang ist dies ein süßer Rum mit ein wenig Biss. Lassen Sie ihn vor dem Probieren ruhen, dann ist der meiste Biss weg. Fruchtig mit ein wenig Karamell und einer Prise Vanille.

Er ist jung und ein bisschen forsch, aber er gefällt mir gut. Die Nase öffnet sich mit Zucker und Karamell, neben einigen süßeren tropischen Früchten. Im Mund ist er etwas feurig, ein wenig würzig und mit Untertönen von Karamell, gefolgt von Chili. Im Abgang ein Hauch von Rauch, noch mehr Chili und einige Noten von Whiskyfässern. Es ist nicht meine typische Wahl für Rum, aber ich würde gerne wiederkommen und mehr davon trinken. Jung und feurig, aber manchmal funktioniert das einfach - interessanter Tropfen

Der nächste der Kategorie Durchschnittsrum. Na ja, ist eben doch einen Ticken zu süß. Wir haben hier Vanille, Schokolade und Karamellbin der Nase sowie am Gaumen. Des weiteren ist er am Gaumen dann relativ rauchig.

Etwas Charakterlos, hätte blind nicht mal auf Anhieb auf Panama getippt. Er ist recht scharf und kann nur wenig Aromen aufweisen, abgesehen von jungem Holz, das an Nase und Gaumen im Vordergrund liegt, ohne ihm dabei wirklich Reife zu geben.
