Clairin Vieux Sajous - Second Release

The smell reminds me strongly of an Agricole that has at least 12 years under its belt. So I was very pleasantly surprised by the smell. A lot of vanilla. The taste is then very roasty with fresh tones and again a lot of beautiful natural vanilla at the end. Really great for such a young distillate.

This is a very good Clairin and it will probably devides the waters because it's a bit different from the other releases. I like it a lot actually. The nose is light yet fresh with grass, floral, glue and vanilla as well as some dried fruit. This rum needs to rest before it surrenders all the flavours. The palate is sweet, warm and dry with dried fruit, spices, wood, grass and lovely floral notes. The finish is fresh and medium long with wood, vanilla, dried fruit and lovely floral notes. Should have bought a few bottles when I had the opportunity.

02-03-2024 Tasted at Whiskymessen.dk Eight rum was first time I tasted another Haiti rum than Barbancourt. This took me totally by surprise. This was so young, fresh and easy to drink. And tasted amazing. The first of many new Haiti rums in 2024

Ich habe keine gute Erinnerung an den ersten Batch, aber dieser hier ist gelungen, man findet den Clairein gut wieder, aber mit schönen Noten von altem Rum. Intensität, Textur, Feinschmeckerei, Frische.

Tout aussi réussi que le 1st release mais pas tout à fait similaire. Ici le citron ainsi que la canne à sucre ont une belle place au nez et en bouche.

Very nice delicious Clairin! I really enjoy this series of aged clairins! I would always prefer these aged to the unaged ones! Here you can taste all the lovely clairin notes, fruits and also woody roasted notes which comes from the barrel!

Noch besser als die 1. Version. Schöne Ester und Klebstoff Noten. Toller, komplexer Geschmack der genau in der Mitte zwischen gutem Agricole und Hampden liegt.

Schöner gereifter Clairin mit cremigem Mundgefühl (eine Stärke vieler Clairins, wie ich finde) und gut integriertem Alkohol. Aus meiner Sicht besser als die Schwesterabfüllung im Oloroso-Cask.

Ein weiterer sehr schöner Erfolg. Ein blumiger, fruchtiger Wein, der alle Merkmale von Clairin aufweist.

Ich habe diese Flasche nun circa 3-4 Monate offen und sie gefällt mir nun besser als am Anfang. Für mich war der Oloroso der Top und dieser der Flop, aber ich erwärme mich immer mehr für diesen Tropfen. Von der Nase über den Antrunk, den Gaumen bis zum Abgang gefällt er mir sehr gut mit verschiedensten Momenten, die mal näher und mal weiter vom Ungelagerten Sajous sind.

Un ottimo rum. Diverso dalla prima release ma comunque molto interessante. Al naso presenta delle note vanigliate e di cacao. Al palato è speziato, in particolare si possono percepire sentori di pepe nero. Da provare!

In der Tradition des ersten mit etwas mehr Watt und Tannin. Ein guter Clairin, aber nichts Innovatives oder Transzendentes.

Viel Geschmack und Biss, aber voller Geschmack mit einem langen Nachgeschmack. Ziemlich blumig mit viel Würze.

Nosing reveals a heart of cedar wood and sugarcane. It’s camphoraceous and cool followed by freshly cut grass, resin and lots of herbs and flowers. There’s balsamic and a bit of honey. Sparse fruits complete the profile with cherry coke notes as well as dried fruits and lemon zest. Less tannic than expected on the palate. Cherry coke and lemon zest with a touch of rhubarb transforming into burnt sugar and cask notes. It’s hot with peppers, yet cool with camphor and very light touches of anise. Ends in green tea and flowers. Very vegetal finish with wood, green tea, rhubarb and camphor.

In der Nase drücken direkt die typischen Noten vom Zuckerrohr entgegen. Im Gaumen wirkt der Rum dann etwas komplexer, leider scheint mit der Alkohol nicht perfekt integriert und stört leicht, im Abgang mittellange. Vom Aromaprofil recht klassisch Zuckerrohr, mit grasigen und fruchtigen Noten.
