How does Bedford Park Caroni Single Barrel Trinidad Rum 1998 taste?
Balanced dirty Caroni at its best
If you already enjoy heavier Caroni or high-ester powerhouses, this hits a sweet spot between grungy petrol notes and clean structure without the over-woody extremes some older Caronis show.
Beginners, those sensitive to high ABV, or drinkers who dislike industrial, rubbery or smoky profiles in their rum.

22-05-2025 Fantastic Caroni. Great integration between rum, taste and ABV. The one to beat tonight 16-10-2025 - Rate 9.3
Decent level Caroni, very strong flavours. Doesn't hide the Caroni profile. Misses some complexity, but sometimes you don't need it to have a very good rum. Geen light Caroni.
This particular Caroni is lovely and definitely seems to play to my particular tastes as a person that does not buy a huge amount of colder climate matured Caroni, I prefer the bigger and bolder tropically matured bottlings. It leads with some kola nut before some Caroni shapeshifting between petrol, tar, oily wrag, wood, a little spice, light fruit and messy sweet notes begins. Great integration too. It all feels solid with nothing being too dominant or off kilter....alcohol, wood and distillate all getting along nicely. I really enjoyed it and I can't say that about a lot of cold climate Caroni
